Off The Wall Energy wins the Startup World Cup Sacramento Regional
The 2024 Startup World Cup Sacramento Regional event concluded with Off The Wall Energy winning the competition. Their Personal Energy Platform, which helps renters manage their energy usage, stood out among the 10 startups that participated. Off The Wall Energy will now represent Sacramento at the Global Grand Finale in San Francisco, where they will compete for a $1 million USD investment prize.
Humolyte, the runner-up, is working on making chemotherapy more tolerable for patients. They also won the audience favorite award, highlighting the community’s support for their mission to improve cancer treatment.
The competition saw a range of innovative ideas, with startups like GibiPay offering fintech solutions and Solir developing advanced materials for passive cooling. Each startup had two minutes to pitch their ideas, followed by a Q&A session with judges from the local entrepreneurial and investment community.
Off The Wall Energy’s win reflects the growing focus on sustainability and energy efficiency, while Humolyte’s recognition underscores the importance of healthcare innovation. Both startups received strong support from the audience and judges, showcasing Sacramento’s vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem.
As Off The Wall Energy prepares for the Global Grand Finale, they carry the hopes of the local community with them. All of the participating startups demonstrated the potential of Sacramento’s entrepreneurial talent, and the event was a positive reminder of the innovation happening in the region.
The 2024 Startup World Cup Finale
You can cheer on Off the Wall at the Startup World Cup Grand Finale on October 4, 2024. It’s a dazzling conference and competition, with 20 luminary speakers from the tech and venture world. Past and present speakers include Vinod Khosla, Steve Wozniak, John Chambers, Reid Hoffman, Tim Draper, Barbara Corcoran, and others from Nvidia, IBM, LinkedIn, Salesforce, Roblox, NEA, Lightspeed, YCombinator, etc. In addition, the top ten global finalists will pitch for a $1 Million grand prize, judged by a panel of top tier venture investors. The event is expected to draw over 2,500 attendees – innovators, investors, tech executives, entrepreneurs, and their supporters.
