STARTUP WORLD CUP SACRAMENTO REGIONAL

The Sacramento Regional Startup World Cup is an event like no other. It’s a unique opportunity for the local entrepreneurial community to come together and witness the birth of the next big thing. The Finalists

On Monday, September 23, 2024, 10 exceptional startups from the Sacramento area will take the stage to present their innovative ideas. Each startup will have just 2 minutes to make their pitch. It’s a high-stakes competition, and you’ll be right there to witness the excitement.

  • Purpuratus: produces products made out of sea urchins to restore kelp forests

  • Soar Optics: Microplastics Detection

  • Solir: Advanced material for passive cooling

  • Stuart Energy: EV charging station diagnostic tool to reduce downtime

  • Thirty One and Bounty: Urban Gardening for All

The Judges

Following each pitch, a panel of experienced investors will grill the startups with a rapid-fire 3-minute Q&A session. Here are the judges:

AUDIENCE VOTING

As an audience member, your opinion holds weight. After watching the pitches, you’ll have the chance to vote for your favorite startup. Your vote will be included in the final tally to determine which startup will represent Sacramento at the Global Grand Finale.

THE GRAND PRIZE

The stakes are high at the Sacramento Regional. The winning startup will advance to the Global Grand Finale, set to take place in San Francisco on October 4, 2024 and compete for a remarkable $1 million USD investment prize. Last year, Electro Scan Inc, the 2023 Sacramento Regional Winner, made it to the top 10 at the Grand Finale, proving the caliber of startups from Sacramento.

About Rich Foreman

Rich Foreman is the founder of KidneyLuv which develops solutions for patients with Chronic Kidney Disease Patients (CKD). He is also the COO of IGH Naturals. Previously, as founding CTO, Rich led the team that developed the CordicoShield / CordicoFire Wellness App. Cordico was honored with the Sacramento Innovation Award in 2021. After achieving a 7 digit ARR, Cordico was acquired by Lexipol in 2020. Rich has a BS in Industrial Engineering from the University of Washington, an MPA from Troy State University and was an officer in the U.S. Navy.

Rich co-authored his book, "Tap into the Mobile Economy." Rich's blog was listed in Top 20 Marketing Mobile Blogs of 2014. He has been featured on KCRA3, NEWS10, 1170 Tech AM PowerDrive, Business Radio Money 105.5, SiliconIndia, the Sacramento Business Journal, and the Sacramento Bee. Rich is also the Founding Director of the Sacramento Chapter of Startup Grind and served a term as Utility Commissioner for the City of Folsom. Rich is a regular contributor to TechWire.net and StartupSac.com. Rich was the Co-founder of Apptology which was named Small Business of the Year in 2014 by the Sacramento Asian Pacific Chamber.
