16 Local Startups Move Forward to Semi-Finals in Pitch Elk Grove Competition

Fifty-three applications were received for the Pitch Elk Grove 2023 competition, from startups located in Sacramento, El Dorado, Placer, San Joaquin, Sutter, Yolo, and Yuba counties. After careful consideration, sixteen local startups have been chosen to advance to the semi-finals round. These sixteen semi-finalists will participate in a virtual pitch-off on April 28, 2023, with the top eight finalists moving on to the in-person event on May 18, 2023. At the final event, a panel of experts will judge the presentations and award prizes for the best startup ($10,000), second best startup ($5,000), and best Elk Grove-based startup ($2,500).

  • Boummeringue (Elk Grove):  A return & re-inventory API for fast fashion retailers.

  • Core Impact, Inc. (Elk Grove): Real time insights for athletes to optimize performance.

  • Elven Technologies (Sacramento): Li-ion battery safety enclosure for E-transportation.

  • EnlitenAI (Tracy): Personalizing seizure treatment using wearables & AI platform.

  • Foodom (Folsom): A marketplace for personalized weekly meal prep by in-home chefs.

  • HuLoop Automation, Inc (Auburn): AI-Powered Intelligent Automation Platform.

  • LogRx (Sacramento): A native app that allows first responders to track medications.

  • Matrubials (Davis): Antimicrobial peptides from milk for combating bacterial infections.

  • Neural Lab, Inc. (El Dorado Hills): Touchless user interface for any camera and any device.

  • PairAnythng  (Davis): Helping businesses sell more through food & beverage pairings.

  • QuakeLogic (Roseville): AI-powered earthquake risk management solutions.

  • Ravata Solutions Inc (Davis): Builds sensors to quantify embryo health for the IVF industry.

  • Tiami Networks (Elk Grove): Bringing sensing intelligence to every wireless device in the world.

About Rich Foreman

Rich Foreman is the founder of KidneyLuv which develops solutions for patients with Chronic Kidney Disease Patients (CKD). He is also the COO of IGH Naturals. Previously, as founding CTO, Rich led the team that developed the CordicoShield / CordicoFire Wellness App. Cordico was honored with the Sacramento Innovation Award in 2021. After achieving a 7 digit ARR, Cordico was acquired by Lexipol in 2020. Rich has a BS in Industrial Engineering from the University of Washington, an MPA from Troy State University and was an officer in the U.S. Navy.

Rich co-authored his book, "Tap into the Mobile Economy." Rich's blog was listed in Top 20 Marketing Mobile Blogs of 2014. He has been featured on KCRA3, NEWS10, 1170 Tech AM PowerDrive, Business Radio Money 105.5, SiliconIndia, the Sacramento Business Journal, and the Sacramento Bee. Rich is also the Founding Director of the Sacramento Chapter of Startup Grind and served a term as Utility Commissioner for the City of Folsom.
